ATLANTA (March 7, 2019) – The J.M. Huber Corporation (Huber) is pleased to announce it has joined CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion™, the largest CEO-driven business commitment to advance Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) within the workplace globally.

By joining, Huber is pledging to help cultivate a workplace where diverse perspectives and experiences are welcomed and respected, and where employees feel empowered to discuss issues related to D&I.

“In a collective commitment with more than 500 businesses, including many of our customers and suppliers, Huber plans to make progress in advancing D&I in our workplace and communities around the world,” says Mike Marberry, President & CEO of Huber. “At Huber, we have taken a big step, but it’s a long journey, and the path may not always be perfectly clear. I look forward to working with other like-minded CEOs to exchange D&I ideas and best practices, and to help accelerate Huber’s progress.”

By signing this pledge, the company is progressing in its initiative—called I Belong at Huber—to create a diverse, inclusive, and respectful environment where people are welcomed to offer different perspectives and be aware of unconscious biases that can exist in the workplace.

“The Huber Principles, our core values, have inspired us to create a company culture that values different opinions, backgrounds and ideas,” Marberry says. “The I Belong at Huber initiative builds on those values and reflects our desire to have a diverse and inclusive workplace.”

As part of the CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion pledge, Huber has committed to do the following:

  1. We will continue to cultivate our workplace to support open dialogue on complex, and sometimes difficult, conversations around D&I.
  2. We will make unconscious bias education available to everyone.
  3. We will share actions that we are taking as part of our I Belong at Huber journey on the CEO Action for D&I website to further best practices in this area overall.

Huber plans to introduce unconscious bias education to all employees in 2019, as well as offer multiple opportunities for global employees to have constructive dialogues about D&I through globally and locally hosted internal events and forums.
