ATLANTA, Georgia, May 19, 2022 — A floating classroom on Lake Lanier will continue to welcome underprivileged youth in Georgia, thanks to a donation made by Huber Helps—J.M. Huber Corporation’s strategic approach to community engagement.

The funds provided enabled Chattahoochee River Keeper (CRK) to purchase and install new motors for an educational boat. This marks the first donation of an annual sponsorship with this Atlanta-based organization.

The boat, located north of the city, will provide water stewardship and learning opportunities to about 5,000 youth annually. This program is part of CRK’s mission “to educate, advocate and secure the protection and preservation of the Chattahoochee River, including its lakes tributaries and watershed, in order to restore and conserve their ecological health for the people and wildlife that depend on the water system.”

The annual sponsorship with CRK supports efforts by Huber to expand its philanthropic initiatives related to watershed conservation and protection as well as aligning with the Company’s sustainability goals. The Chattahoochee River is directly adjacent to Huber’s corporate offices in Atlanta and will provide annual community engagement opportunities for local employees.

CRK is a member of Waterkeeper Alliance, a global network of river protection organizations, which the Company will also be exploring in 2022 to expand our reach in the water protection space globally.
