Partnering with the Arbor Day Foundation to Protect our Planet
In celebration of Arbor Day, Huber is proud to renew its annual partnership between Huber Helps and the Arbor Day Foundation by supporting critical ecosystem restoration efforts through four reforestation projects in California, Georgia, North Carolina (US) and Germany.
Partnering with the Foundation aligns with Huber’s ongoing sustainability journey and enables us to play a key role in implementing nature-based solutions to some of the biggest environmental issues facing our planet. Supporting global forest restoration helps create more resilient environments by slowing climate change, filtering our air and water, fostering biodiversity, improving human health and wellbeing and strengthening our communities.
“As a multi-generational family-owned business, we’re extremely proud to support the Arbor Day Foundation’s mission as part of our commitment to contributing to stronger communities and a healthy planet,” says Lea Volpe, VP of Communications & Community Relations for Huber.
Since 2021, Huber has worked together with the Foundation on 21 projects that can be attributed to planting and distributing over 626,000 trees that have restored 1,241 acres. These projects have included global reforestation projects and community tree planting events as well as participation in the Community Canopy program for US-based employees to plant trees at their homes.
“Trees and forests are the backbone of our ecosystems. As we grapple with a changing climate and the challenges it brings people and the planet, restoring forests can make a significant difference in our future,” said Dan Morrow, Vice President, Programs and Partnerships, at the Arbor Day Foundation. “Thanks to Huber’s ongoing commitment to meaningful environmental stewardship, we believe these global tree planting efforts will yield tangible benefits for these ecosystems — and we’re grateful for their belief that a better world is possible through the power of trees.”
Huber shares the belief that people need trees. Around the world, trees clean the air, purify water, shade homes and improve our mental wellbeing. But trees also need people – advocates, doers, and dreamers. By working together and working everywhere, we do our entire world a world of good, helping to strengthen and connect the communities and ecosystems that we all call home.
