The J.M. Huber Corporation announced that Don Young, Vice President of Environment, Health, Safety & Sustainability (EHS&S), earned industry-wide recognition for his leadership role in helping the company move toward its goal of achieving world-class EHS&S performance.

Young was named one of the top 50 Environmental & Sustainability Leaders in the US for 2017. Environmental Leader, an industry publication that covers commercial and industrial environmental issues and sustainability management, selected Young for the prestigious honor.

Huber President and CEO Mike Marberry noted, “Huber has a longstanding reputation for environmental and sustainability leadership. Don leads by example, setting the tone to challenge, engage and inspire Huber employees around the world to achieve excellence in EHS&S performance.”

Young spearheads major EHS&S initiatives, including the development of Huber’s sustainability strategy, which focuses on the “Triple Bottom Line” of People, Planet & Profit. He led Huber’s four-day Global EHS&S Conference in 2016, bringing together about 200 Huber employees from around the world. The conference focused on sharing ideas and best practices in EHS&S, attracting employees from Huber’s three core businesses—CP Kelco, Huber Engineered Materials, Huber Engineered Woods, as well as Corporate. Young also plays a central role in expanding leadership training in EHS&S across the organization.

According to Marberry, “The top 50 list includes EHS&S leaders from some of the most prominent global manufacturing companies in the world. Without question, it is terrific for Huber to be honored this way and we are fortunate to have Don exhibiting such strong, visible leadership within our company.”

Young and the other distinguished members of the top 50 list will be recognized at a celebratory event hosted by Environmental Leader on June 6 as part of the Environmental Leader Conference in Denver, Colorado.
