J.M. Huber Corporation (Huber) was named an Honoree at the Georgia Family Business of the Year Awards in the “Sustainable Business” category by Kennesaw State University’s Cox Family Enterprise Center at a ceremony on Thursday, February 28, 2019.

As the oldest family business center in the world, the Cox Family Enterprise Center supports business families by creating comprehensive education tailored to their needs.

The awards program, now in its 25th year, recognizes family-owned businesses in Georgia that have demonstrated resiliency, sustainability and legacy through best practices.

Specifically, the Sustainable Business Honoration celebrates sustainability practices that work towards the longer-term benefit of an organization’s stakeholders as well as the broader community. Huber was one of three honorees recognized for innovation in product development, business processes, human resources practices and ethics, as well as its overall approach to minimizing its environmental impact, contributing to local communities and pursuing fair long-term returns to shareholders.

Don Young, Executive Vice President of Environment, Health, Safety & Sustainability, who accepted the award on behalf of Huber, says, “Being named as an Honoree by the Cox Family Enterprise Center places Huber amongst only 100 other companies in Georgia that have reached this level of recognition, and is a testament to our commitment to the Huber Principles, and our Triple Bottom Line approach to doing business.”

A commemorative plaque from the ceremony will be displayed in Huber’s Atlanta office.
