ATLANTA, GEORGIA (April 27, 2022) – Providing funding for STEM curriculum and training in underrepresented communities demonstrates how Huber Helps can further the Company’s commitment to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DE&I). Huber’s $250,000 donation to Project Lead The Way (PLTW) will be used to implement a curriculum connecting science, technology, engineering and mathematics in schools across the US.

The two inaugural projects are currently being planned for the Pittsylvania School District in Virginia, and Stone Mountain Elementary School in Atlanta, Georgia, both near Huber plant and office locations. STEM training and programming will be implemented in these schools in the 2022/2023 school year.

PLTW is a mission-driven organization that works with school districts and local partners to provide STEM curriculum and classroom tools to students in grades Pre-Kindergarten through 12 across the U.S. Programming empowers millions of students to develop in-demand, transportable knowledge, and skills through pathways in computer science, engineering and biomedical science.

PLTW programs not only create a lasting impact for students, but also for the teachers who participate in the curriculum training. They provide teachers with professional development and resources that support them as they engage their students in real-world learning. Approximately 12,200 elementary, middle and high schools in all 50 states and the District of Columbia offer PLTW programs.

“We are proud to partner with Huber Corporation and we are grateful for their support in implementing our PLTW programs within their communities across the U.S.,” said Dr. Vince Bertram, PLTW President and CEO.  “Together we’re empowering the next generation of students with the in-demand, real-world knowledge and skill to have successful and enduring careers.”
