Luis Fernandez-Moreno

Luis Fernandez-Moreno brings over 30 years of experience in the performance materials, specialty ingredients and coatings industries to the Management Board of Huber Engineered Materials (HEM), which he joined in May 2019. Taking on leadership roles in the United States, Mexico, Brazil, France and the United Kingdom, he has worked to position complex global businesses for sustainable success and has experience in mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and divestitures.

He was President of the Ashland, Inc. Chemicals Group until February 2017. He previously served as the President of Ashland’s Water Technologies business. Before joining Ashland, He was Executive Vice President at Arch Chemicals, responsible for the HTH Water Products and the Wood Protection businesses. Following the acquisition of Rohm and Haas, where he served in positions of increasing responsibility for 25 years, Fernandez-Moreno was named Group Vice President for the newly formed Dow Coatings Materials business.

In addition to serving on the HEM board, Fernandez-Moreno is a Director on the Boards of Ingevity, Select Water Solutions and HASA, Inc. He previously served on the Board of Ascensus Specialties and OQ Chemicals. He is also a member of the Director’s council at the University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology.

Fernandez-Moreno holds a BA in Chemical Engineering from Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico and is a graduate of the Wharton Management Program in Business Administration at the University of Pennsylvania.
