With a global industrial career that spans more than 35 years, Linda J. Welty brings a wealth of experience in chemicals and specialty chemicals to the Management Board of Huber Engineered Materials (HEM).

Welty was the former President & Chief Operating Officer of Flint Ink, a $1.5 billion global manufacturer of printing ink, founded in 1920 and owned by five generations of Flint family members. At Flint, she oversaw the company’s expansion into the emerging markets of China and India.

Before taking on the leadership role at Flint, Welty served as President of the Specialty Group of the H.B. Fuller Company, a Fortune 1000 manufacturer of specialty adhesives, sealants and coatings with operations worldwide.

Over the course of more than 20 years, Welty held global leadership roles for Hoechst AG and its former US subsidiary, Celanese. Having begun her career in manufacturing, sales and marketing, Welty took on positions of increasing global responsibility at Hoechst. She holds the distinction of being the only American woman to run a global chemicals business for Hoechst, which she led from Frankfurt, Germany. Welty also has extensive international experience in Latin America and Asia.

Welty is a Director of Mercer International, Inc., a leading producer of pulp, renewable energy and chemicals.

She previously served as a Director of GCP Applied Technologies, a global provider of specialty construction chemicals and building materials, as well as Director of Vertellus Specialties, Inc., a global specialty chemicals company focused on the manufacture of ingredients used in pharmaceuticals, personal care, nutrition, agriculture and a host of other market areas common to those served by J.M. Huber Corporation with non-competing products. Welty is also a former Chair of the Atlanta Chapter of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD).

Welty holds a BS degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Kansas.
