Dr. Gregory Yep brings more than 30 years of experience in the flavor, fragrance and consumer packaged goods industry to the Management Board of Huber Engineered Materials (HEM), which he joined in May 2020. He currently serves as Executive Vice President and Chief Technical and Research Officer at CJ Cheiljedang, a global leader in Asian and American foods, nutrition and biotechnology. At the helm of the company’s global research and development strategy, his leadership is dedicated to delivering unparalleled new food products that not only captivate but also delight the global consumer, with iconic brands such as Bibigo and Red Baron.

Prior to his role at CJ, Dr. Yep served as the Chief Science Officer at IFF and held the position of Senior Vice President of Research and Development at PepsiCo. In these leadership roles, he developed science-based strategies for core ingredients, leaving a mark on the realms of food, flavor, metabolism, and nutrition. Dr. Yep’s impact is notably reflected in his leadership of the Gatorade Sports Science Institute, a beacon of knowledge in sports nutrition and exercise science dedicated to enhancing the performance and well-being of athletes.

From 2005-2008, Dr. Yep was Global Vice President of Application Technologies at Givaudan Flavors and Fragrances. While there, he led a diverse global technology group and was responsible for R&D of taste and flavor delivery technology worldwide. He began his career at McCormick & Company in 1997, where he held executive roles of increasing responsibility in food science.

In addition to the HEM Management Board, Dr. Yep is a Director on the Boards of IFF Hong Kong and Will Ventures, and also serves on multiple advisory boards, including the United States Tennis Association DE&I National Committee and Asian American Pacific Islander Tennis Association. Dr. Yep is a recipient of the Apex for Youth Inspiration Award in recognition of serving underserved youth in New York City and is also a Flavor and Extract Manufacturers Association Excellence in Flavor Science awardee.

Dr. Yep received a BA in Biology and Chemistry from the University of Pennsylvania and holds both an MA in Organic Chemistry and a Doctor of Philosophy in Organic Chemistry from Johns Hopkins University.
