Don Young
Donald A. Young joined J.M. Huber Corporation in 2014 as Executive Vice President (EVP) and Chief Sustainability Officer.
Young’s responsibilities include developing and executing a comprehensive Environment, Health, Safety & Sustainability (EHS&S) vision, sustainability strategy and globally shared policies and programs for Huber. His efforts help ensure environmental compliance, adherence to Huber’s philosophy of leaving a “light environmental footprint” and the Company’s commitment to creating a safe and healthy workplace for employees and engaging with the communities in which Huber operates.
Young, a member of the Huber Management Council, reports to Huber’s CEO and he is the Management representative to the Huber Board of Director’s EHS&S Committee where his role is to report on the EHS&S performance of the company. Environmental Leader, an industry publication that covers sustainability management, named Young as one of the top 50 Environmental & Sustainability Leaders in the US for 2017.
Prior to joining Huber, Young was a full-time Board member of the National Energy Board (NEB) of Canada, an independent federal regulatory agency adjudicating on the review of Canada’s energy infrastructure projects. He has also served as Senior VP of Corporate Sustainability with Smith & Nephew, a global medical technology company, and Executive VP for Ducks Unlimited, Inc., a nonprofit organization focused on science, environmental problem-solving and public engagement.
Young earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from the University of Regina, as well as a Master of Science Degree in Zoology from the University of Alberta.
