De Lyle W. Bloomquist serves as a Director on the Board of Huber Engineered Materials (HEM). He is the former President of the Global Chemicals Business for Tata Chemicals Ltd., and the former President, CEO & Director at Tata Chemicals North America, Inc.
Bloomquist joined General Chemical Corporation in 1988 as a Market Analyst. Over the ensuing years, he took on roles of increasing responsibility including the Business Controller for the Sulfur Products business, Manager of Services responsible for the administration functions for a large mine and refining plant, Director of Business Operations and Group Controller for the Industrial Chemicals division, Director of Corporate Distribution, and Vice President and General Manager. In 1999, Bloomquist was appointed Vice President & Chief Operating Officer of General Chemical Group and was named President and CEO in March 2004. In March 2008, he facilitated the acquisition of General Chemical by Tata Chemicals Ltd. The acquisition made Tata the world’s second-largest soda ash producer.
In addition to serving on the HEM Board, Bloomquist is a Director on the Boards of Crystal Peak Minerals, Rayonier Advanced Materials, Gran Colombia Gold Corp. and PDS Biotechnology Corporation. He is the former Chairman & Director of ANSAC, a soda ash expert cooperative. He has also served on the Board of Oglebay-Norton Company, a producer of high-quality limestone, lime and industrial sand products.
Bloomquist has a BS in Business Administration from Brigham Young University and an MBA in Finance from Carnegie Mellon University.
