W. Lee Nutter – Board Chair
Lee Nutter joined the Huber Board in December 2006 and was named Board Chair in 2009. He enjoyed a 40-year career with a single company: Rayonier, an international forest products company with a market capitalization of more than $3 billion.
After graduating from college in 1967, Nutter joined Rayonier as an analyst in the accounting department of the company’s Northwest Timber Division and rose through the ranks to become President and COO in 1996, and Chairman, President and CEO in 1999. Nutter retired from Rayonier in 2007.
Nutter’s experience is an excellent strategic fit with Huber as Rayonier is a global supplier of timber, performance timbers and wood products. A US citizen, Nutter has timber in his blood, having grown up in Oregon and Washington State, where his father worked in the forest products industry. Although he was familiar with Huber Engineered Woods LLC and Huber’s timberlands business, Huber Resources Corp, prior to joining the Board, Nutter has developed a keen understanding of Huber’s diverse portfolio and its global operations.
In addition to serving on the Huber Board, Nutter is also the Lead Director on the Board of Republic Services, Inc. and on the Board of Columbia Pipeline Group, Inc. and on the Advisory Board of the University of Washington’s Foster School of Business.
Nutter holds a bachelor’s degree in operations management from the University of Washington in Seattle and graduated from the Harvard University Graduate School of Business Advanced Management Program.
