Making environmental considerations part of our everyday decision-making. The Huber Environmental Performance Index enables us to identify how our operations affect communities, regions and the world. To improve environmental performance, Huber's Environmental Action Reporting System tracks information about environmental incidents or potential incidents.
Preventing emissions at the source. Huber's plants use scrubber systems to capture pollutants before they reach the atmosphere. We constantly refine our production processes to reduce harmful by-products.
Living up to Huber's high standards, which meet or exceed all applicable laws and regulations. Huber actively promotes conservation and efficient use of natural resources. We support recycling and reuse. We subject our businesses to periodic environmental audits performed by trained Huber teams from outside the business unit.
Working with other individuals, companies and organizations to protect our environment. In 1995, Huber initiated a corporate partnership with The Nature Conservancy. We created a program called Adopt-a-Preserve, which combines cash contributions with financial matching for the time our employees and their families, shareholders and retirees volunteer at preserves around the country. Huber has also made large land donations in Maine, Tennessee and New Jersey to The Nature Conservancy and other foundations.
